The Riviera Cinema accepts Visa, MasterCard, Cash and The Riviera Cinema Gift Card.
Booking Fees
Tickets purchased on this website are inclusive of a Booking Fee per ticket charge which if a refund is required will be automatically refunded. The Riviera Cinema reserves the right to alter any and all fees from time to time and without notice.
Allocated Seating
Where allocated seating applies to a session you have the choice of choosing your own seat on the website. Otherwise seat allocation for tickets purchased via this website is a on a “best available” basis and is not available and the session is a general admit.
Amount of Tickets per Customer or "Ticket Limits"
When purchasing tickets on this website you are not limited to a specified number of tickets for each movie session/event.
Censor Warning
Please check the censor warning before buying the tickets. Please also check for any additional ratings/entry restrictions that may be applicable for events/movies from time to time.
Identification
Where tickets requiring identification are purchased, suitable identification must be presented upon collection of the tickets. Failure to present suitable identification will result in the applicable tickets being forfeited and tickets to alternative suitable shows offered in their place.
Order Confirmation
If you do not receive a confirmation number (in the form of a confirmation page or email) after submitting payment information, or if you experience an error message or service interruption after submitting payment information, it is your responsibility to confirm the Booking. Only you may be aware of any problem that has occurred during the purchase process. The Riviera Cinema will not be responsible for losses (monetary or otherwise) if you assume that an order was not placed because you failed to receive confirmation.
Ticket Collection
Your Booking confirmation will be sent via an email to the email address that you entered on the Booking Confirmation page. This confirmation needs to be printed and shown at the Cinema Ticket Counter in order to obtain a physical ticket for entry to the movie session/event. Alternatively, you may provide the credit card used to purchase the tickets for picking up the tickets at the Cinema/Venue.
Refunds and Exchanges
Tickets purchased via this website are sold for a specific session only and are sold on a strict no-refund no-exchange and no-transfer basis unless required by law.
GST and local taxes
Prices on this website include GST where applicable.
Pricing and Other Errors
If the amount you pay for a ticket is incorrect (regardless of whether because of an error in a price posted on this website or otherwise communicated to you), or you are able to order a ticket before its scheduled on-sale or pre-sale date or you are able to order a ticket that was not supposed to have been released for sale, then The Riviera Cinema will have the right to cancel that ticket (or the order for that ticket) and refund to you the amount that you paid. This will apply regardless of human error or a transactional malfunction of this website.
Cancelled/Postponed Events
Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by The Riviera Cinema. Should this occur, The Riviera Cinema will attempt to contact you and refund the amount as per the policy of The Riviera Cinema. The Riviera Cinema may, at its discretion, refuse to sell tickets to you or withdraw any tickets from sale via this website.

When purchasing tickets through this website you must provide personal details, including credit card billing information. Your credit card details are used for real-time billing of ticket purchases and are not retained on our server. To facilitate your ticket purchase your billing information is shared with our banking gateway partner. We will record your email address if you transmit it to us electronically. Your email address will only be used for the purpose for which you provide it and will not be added to a mailing list unless you request that this be done. We will not disclose your email address without your consent.

We are a small business and if we are to continue providing Oamaru with the latest in Cinema with an affordable ticket price we need your support and ask that you only take food purchased on the premise into the auditorium.

Recording Films is a Crime -
The Riviera Cinema takes the prevention of illegal recording of films seriously and no electronic equipment is permitted in cinemas. Recording or attempting to record films is a serious criminal offence and The Riviera Cinema will report all suspected offenders to police for prosecution.
Prams & Strollers - Prams and Strollers may be taken into the Cinema however must be positioned in the designated wheelchair areas and they must not be left in aisles or exits. Please note that wheelchair users have priority over the use of designated wheelchair areas and we may direct prams or strollers to be positioned elsewhere to accommodate wheelchair patrons.
Policy on Bags in Cinemas - For security and safety reasons it is our policy to not allow large bags or backpacks into our Cinema, our staff can store these for you in a locked room while we are confident your belonging's are safe we will not accept responsibility should items go missing, please do not bring valuables with you.
Ticket Requirements - All patrons over the age of 3 are required to have a valid ticket that must be kept on their person at all times throughout the film. Patrons may be required to produce this ticket for inspection by Cinema Staff at any time while on the premises. One ticket entitles one patron one seat, infants or children under 3 years of age admitted without a ticket may occupy a seat if the Cinema is not full and the seat next to them is vacant. If the Cinema is full infants or children under 3 years of age admitted without a ticket must be accommodated on a ticket holding patrons lap if the Cinema is full personal items eg coats, bags etc must be placed on a ticket holding patrons lap.
Prohibited Items - No alcohol, bottles, cans, aerosol, glass, outside food or beverages, laser pointers, large bags, personal stereos, electronic equipment, roller blades, bicycles, scooters, skateboards or trolleys are permitted on The Riviera Cinema premises unless otherwise advised.
Age Related Ticket Purchases - Photo I.D. is required as proof of age for all films stated R13, R15, R16 or R18.
The Riviera Cinema May Refuse Entry - The Riviera Cinema reserves the right to refuse entry onto the premises and management reserves the right to request patrons leave the premises shall they breach any of these conditions of entry, no refund will be provided to a patron who is removed from the premises
CCTV - For the safety and security of patrons and staff recorded video surveillance may be in use at all times in all locations on our premises.
No Smoking - In accordance with applicable laws and out of consideration for our patrons and staff The Riviera Cinema premises is strictly smoke free, smoking is not prohibited under any circumstances this includes any and all kind of vaping.
Feet & Footwear - Please refrain from putting feet on seats or railings, entering the Cinema without footwear is prohibited and all patrons must have something on their feet at all times.

You agree to be bound by these terms and conditions by purchasing, activating, using or attempting to use The Riviera Cinema Gift Card. You warrant to us that you will comply with these terms and conditions and all applicable laws that these will not be used in any manner that is unlawful, misleading, deceptive or unfair. If you are giving a Gift Card to another recipient you must ensure that the recipient of The Riviera Cinema Gift Card is aware of the terms of conditions that apply and the relevant expiry date. The Riviera Cinema reserves the right to amend all or part of these terms and conditions at any time.
The Riviera Cinema Gift Cards can be purchased from the The Riviera Cinema or Online at rivieracinema.co.nz, The Riviera Cinema Gift Card purchased can be individually loaded with any value between $20 and $1000 and are valid for 3 years from date of purchase, once a Riviera Gift Card has been purchased it cannot be refunded or redeemed for cash, you should treat your Riviera Cinema Gift Card like cash. The Riviera Cinema Gift Card cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or damaged. The Riviera Cinema Gift Card can be used to purchase both Cinema Tickets and Concessions from the Candy Bar. At our discretion we may change our policies and procedures on lost, stolen or damaged Riviera Gift Cards, if we decide to do this we will publish details here on our website.
Movie Money Vouchers can only be purchased in bulk at The Riviera Cinema and are to be purchased in bulk at a minimum of 15 vouchers with no maximum restrictions, Movie Money vouchers are valid for 3 years or the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged or extended after this date. Movie Money vouchers are redeemable for 1 general admission ticket and cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded if lost or stolen. Any lost or stolen card should be reported to our customer service staff a replacement card fee of $2 incl GST will apply for each re issued card with the lost card being immediately cancelled.
The Riviera Cinema Membership(s) can only be used once on any given session for example a Membership(s) with two people can only redeem two tickets for any given session and cannot redeem more tickets over multiple transaction's, doing so can and will result in immediate cancellation of your Membership(s). It is a Members responsibility to notify The Rivera Cinema of any change of contact information on their Membership(s).
